Application Forms
Below are links that will direct you to helpful information and applications needed to apply for both public and leased housing. All applications can also be picked up at the Greenfield Housing Authority office during normal business hours.

Completed and signed applications must be mailed or dropped off at the Greenfield Housing Authority office.


State Aided Public Housing
There are different types of public housing available, such as housing for families, elderly persons and certain persons with disabilities. Supportive housing with assisted living services for elderly and disabled persons and congregate housing is also available. There is a very small amount of public housing available to single persons. To find out what is available in each town, please call us.

To be eligible to live in state public housing, a household must typically earn no more than 80 percent of the area median income. Income guidelines vary from year to year and region to region. To live in state assisted elderly public housing, you must be at least 60 years old. If you are a person with a disability, you must meet certain criteria to be eligible for state or federal housing for disabled persons.

Housing Choice Voucher (HCV)
The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.

HCV Centralized Waiting List
Applicants submit one application to the centralized waiting list system, operated by AffordableHousing.com, and their application is automatically added to the waiting list for all 102 participating PHAs. Each participating PHA selects participants to their Section 8 Voucher program off of the centralized waiting list in accordance with their local policy. Starting on July 1, 2019 the Massachusetts Centralized Section 8 Waiting List will now be operated through the new AffordableHousing.com waiting list system.

2020 WAITING LIST UPDATE & PURGE - The Massachusetts Centralized Waiting List is updated and purged in order to keep applicant information current and to remove applicants who are no longer interested.

Winslow Building
The Greenfield Housing Authority is now accepting applications for current and future vacancies at the newly renovated Winslow Building located at 9 Wells Street in Greenfield. These one room studio units include individual kitchenettes, private bathrooms, shared laundry facilities, community room and off street parking all within walking distance to all downtown businesses and services. Individual men and women (elderly, disabled or working) 18 years old and above are encouraged to apply. In order to qualify for these studio apartments managed by the Greenfield Housing Authority, a single person’s annual income must not exceed $35,340.
